Nathaniel Clemett

Before coming to the University of Michigan, Nate worked as a Research Scientist/Field Engineer at the University of Washington’s Applied Physics Laboratory (APL). At APL, he helped develop free floating oceanographic wave buoys used to study ocean and atmospheric interactions. Nate holds a U.S. Coast Guard Merchant Mariner Master Captain’s license and has worked as a charter captain across the Caribbean and Mediterranean Seas. Upon arriving at the University of Michigan, he worked on active stabilization for vessels using gyroscopic precession. His most recent work involves decision and route planning for Autonomous Surface Vehicles and Underwater Autonomous Vehicles.
