Brendan Sulkowski joined the University of Michigan in 2017, completing his Bachelor’s Degree in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering in 2021. He completed his Master’s Degree in the same department in 2022 and is currently working towards his doctoral degree. As an intern with Naval Sea Systems Command - Carderock Division in their Combatant Craft Division, he tested and performed evaluations on new and changing vessels. He also interned at Chevron Shipping, where he worked on developing a system to provide optimal options for fuel usage in their oil tankers. He worked in the Marine Hydrodynamics Laboratory at the University of Michigan for multiple semesters, and has completed other research under Dr. Matthew Collette including being involved on the SENATOR project, which was a major review of current and future autonomous vessels as well as determining future research paths in that area.
